Ride to Support People with Mental & Physical Challenges

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES
Greg LeMond's story of rehabilitation mirrors the daily struggle and triumph of the millions of people with disabilities. It is Greg's intimate understanding of this population that motivates his involvement in The Greg LeMond Bike Ride

"People who are challenged, whether mentally or physically, can overcome obstacles to lead productive lives,' says LeMond. Thresholds and Curative Rehabilitation Services, two of the nation's premier agencies serving people with disabilities, have partnered with LeMond to spread this important message.

You can be part of this vital campaign to empower people with mental and physical challenges by participating in this event.
THRESHOLDS
The Greg LeMond Bike Ride is produced by and primarily benefits Thresholds, the nation's foremost non-profit rehabilitation agency serving people with mental illness. Since 1959, Thresholds has helped thousands of people with mental illnesses live with dignity and independence through a comprehensive program of case management, vocational services, housing and education. As a internationally recognized program with over 18 service locations in the Chicagoland area, the Thresholds model has been replicated by more than 40 agencies nationwide.

Proceeds from The Greg LeMond Bike Ride will help expand Thresholds' homeless programs, including the Mobile Assessment Unit, Chicago's only city wide mental health outreach program. These programs boast an 85% reduction in homelessness of people benefiting from Thresholds' services. For more information about Thresholds and it homeless programs, call Andrew Stark at 773-472-4581 or e-mail him at astark@threshold.org.
